Red Robin® Gourmet Burgers Inc. operates and develops casual dining restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, including its subsidiary Red Robin Restaurants. We believe in bringing people together with high-quality burgers and Bottomless Steak Fries® that everyone loves. Since opening in 1969 in Seattle, Washington, we have grown to 546 Red Robin Restaurants in 44 states and one Canadian province. 443 restaurants are company-owned, while our franchisees operate the remaining 103.

Something Craveable for Everyone

For over 50 years, we have been serving burgers and brews for the young and the young at heart. We believe in creating a place where our guests experience memorable moments while enjoying Gourmet Burgers and other mainstream favorites. Our Gourmet Burgers are made with the highest-quality ingredients and can be customizable and allergen-free if needed. All our burgers are served with our famous Bottomless Steak Fries®. We offer a large selection of national and craft beers and signature alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty drinks, cocktails, and wine.

Besides burgers, we provide guests other craveable items to choose from like appetizers, salads, soup, seafood and a variety of entrees. We have also partnered with Donatos® pizza to offer that as an option in many of our restaurants. We pride ourselves in our guest service and want our guests to enjoy delectable food while relaxing and connecting with friends. Our middle-income, multi-generational guests value our unique approach to off-premise sales serving the correct order every time.

When we considered how to deliver high-quality food and service, we created a strategy that embraces where we’ve been, where we are and where we want to be. We believe we are utilizing true innovation in service with the ever-changing world around us. We look forward to continuing to be the desired dining location of diverse and multi-generational guests looking for a transformative dining experience.

Recapture Our Soul

We strive to deliver memorable moments connecting family, friends, and fun. We want to provide our guests “The Gift of Time.” By serving quality food and beverage in a casual, playful atmosphere, we give guests the dining experience they want. We recognize that 2/3 of our sales is from Gen X, Millennials and Centennials1 and we are focused on serving and connecting with those markets.

We restructured our labor model to deliver a new hospitality model called Total Guest Experience (TGX). We have also streamlined our off-premises dining experience by leveraging technology and implementing a triple check for each order. We are proud of our retention and tenure of all levels of our Team Members.

Tell Our Story

Utilizing our brand campaign of “All the Fulls” we transform the guest experience into an emotional connection that drives memorable moments. We are focused on delivery and go-to search terms to improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and increase website traffic. Our social and email reach and engagement is at optimal levels, and this has moved the emphasis from price to highlight the value our brand provides. Our Red Robin RoyaltyTM program connects us even more with our guests.

Accelerate Profitable Growth

We focus on fewer but more impactful initiatives that will deliver top and bottom-line results. We offer a more customer-focused delivery program and have partnered with Donatos® pizza to provide quality pizzas in 120 of our restaurants in 2021 with a goal of being in over 400 restaurants by 2023, creating a new profit line.

Our Accomplishments in 2021 Include:

Continued Donatos® roll-out to 120 Company-owned restaurants, bringing the total number of restaurants with Donatos® to 198 restaurants as of December 26, 2021.

At the end of 2021, we were 93% staffed at the salaried manager positions, and 96% staffed in the General Manager role.

Launched an integrated and seamless digital ecosystem for our Guests, including mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms, an improved and more relevant digital Guest experience consisting of a new and improved website, and the integration of a new loyalty program.

Our History.

Serving High-Quality Deliciousness since the 1940's

Red Robin started as Sam’s Tavern in the college party town of Seattle in the 1940s. Sam was part of a quartet, and he loved singing "When the Red, Red Robin (Comes Bob, Bob Bobbin’ Along)" and ended up using that to rename the popular burger joint to Sam’s Red Robin. In 1969 Sam’s name was dropped, and the menu got beefed up to make burgers like no one had seen before. Fans raveled from all over the states just to taste these Gourmet Burgers, and eventually, people started opening up Red Robins across the country.

By 1983, there was a total of 22 Red Robin locations and Red, the Red Robin mascot, was created. Just three years later, Red Robin bloomed across the U.S. and Canada with over 175 locations serving an expanded menu that everyone craved. In 2019, we celebrated 50 years of serving Gourmet Burgers and Brews with our passion for bringing people together and having fun. The future will only get better for Red Robin due to our continuous desire to innovate and have fun while serving the highest quality ingredients to the best customers.
